Wood Therapy (known also as Maderotherapy) is an ancient technique originally from Asian cultures where wooden tools of various shapes and sizes where used in different body parts to massage different areas of the body. Initially it was practiced for medical purposes to relieve muscles aches, stress and anxiety and afterwards spreaded to the aesthetic field in the western world.

Thanks to its high performance in the removal of localized adipose tissue (fat) and stimulate lymphatic drainage this natural and non-invasive therapy finds application in various scenarios ranging from cellulite reduction to the body contouring

Benefits of Wood Therapy:
  • Helps stimulate the lymphatic system by flushing out toxins and waste products from the body (detox effect) and drain excess of fluids (draining effects)
  • helps reduce water retention
  • helps break up stubborn fat and promote reduction of adipose tissue and reshapes the body
  • reduces the appearance of cellulite
  • stimulate the metabolism, which can aid in weight loss
  • boosts energy levels
  • reinforces immune system
  • tones muscles
  • firms and tightens skin by boosting production of vitamins and collagen
  • prevents scar tissues and reduces fibrosis
Contra-indications to the treatment:
  • Pregnancy
  • Varicose veins, lymphedema and lipoedema
  • Cancer
  • Skin conditions or sunburn
  • Surgery in the last 2 months

In some circumstances the treatment can be performed by avoiding the areas affected. Client must inform the therapist if any of the contra-indication above applies before booking and seek medical advice for any concern.
