Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a complementary therapy able to detect, treat and prevent health problems by moving, stretching and massaging a person’s muscles and joints. It is beneficial for a wide range of medical conditions and is based on the principle that the wellbeing of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.

Osteopathy can help for muscle tensions and stiffness on neck, back, lower back as well as for joints pain, for short-term issues such as sports injuries and is beneficial on improving migraines, headaches or digestive issues. Osteopathy sessions on a regular basis help manage chronic conditions such as arthritis and maintain overall wellbeing.

Osteopathy is a holistic therapy that means the body is considered as a “whole”. This holistic approach involves on focusing on the entire person, on treating the person and not the medical condition.

In fact, along the patient’s physical symptoms, an osteopath will consider the factors that could be contributing to the problem, including other biological, psychological and social factors. During a osteopathy session the therapist will develop a treatment plan that combines manual therapy with advice around exercise, diet and lifestyle.
